obx lsd, shiming, and axle problems
I just recently installed an obx lsd on my b16a2. Everything seemed to work perfect until one day I was driving and my pass. side axle popped out. When i tried to insert it again, it looked like there was a small gap between the axle and the tranny. I think the axle never even locked into place with the snap ring on which caused it to pop out.
I had a friend install this lsd for me, and we didn't shim anything, we also didn't measure any clearances. I know this is bad, but I am new, and I didn't know what was really going on. Is it possible that the reason why the axle is not going in is because it is not shimed properly?
people who have this lsd, did you shim it during installation? Did your axle go in fine? People have problems with axles getting stuck, while I can't even get my snap ring to lock on.

I would pull the tranny and check the PROPER clearances. There is a thread here that I used.
Walks you through.
You can also check the snap ring and make sure it's not damaged.
Best of luck.
