Alright, I bought my LSD quite a while ago, maybe back in March, when they were going for cheap on Ebay, bought it brand new, came sealed and dealed. When I got it I just openned it, was all lubricated, looked at it for a sec and put it back into the closet for the build.

Well today I brought it out cause I was going to bring it and my tranny to Milton, Transmission to get it installed and I look at it and notice something. FUCKED!

I'll post the pics first, look at the first 2 carefully and see if you can see what Im talking about before I say it. 3rd and 4th show it definitevely.





Some bolts stuck out more than others, checked with allen wrench and they were tight though, will this cause problems?




So if you didnt notice on of the bolts is snapped off at the head, leaving me with nothing but a completely flush surface level with the bore, dont know how to get it out really. Just wanted to show everyone, hoping its an easy fix and not a sign of problems to come with this unit. ANyone have any suggestions or ideas on both the broken stud and the bolt depth?

 

if the head bolt is missing, drill the bolt and use a reverse tap drill to extract it. there shouldn't be any torqe on the broken bolt tread.

 

Ya I was just gonna tap it out with a punch if I can find my small one

Point of the thread was just to show the quality and inspection process that my unit obviously was not given, what else is broken inside? are other bolts missing? never know

 

eeek. thats hella scary! shoes you that you do get what you pay for....
sorry, im not trying to bash you, just sux that obx quality is obx quality...

I forgot to update this thread, after looking at all these OBX threads Ive seen every unit (total of 2) with this bolt missing

Im assuming its missing on purpose, looks broken to me though
