OBDII and emissions Question
Ok as you can see from my sig, i no longer own a honda. but these quesitons are generally universal (obd related) and im going to do an engine swap in the 240.
now, the question.
I know for OBDII they just check the ECU for CEL's but what about stored CEL's? meaning if like 10 starts ago i had a CEL but have since fixed it, will the stored code cause me to fail emissions?
and how often do you have to emissions test an odbII (1997) vheicle? ive heard every year, 2 years, i dont know.

I don't think they'll ever know you had a code. I don't believe that they store them for emissions purposes.
I believe it's every 2 years for a used vehicle.

spade yea i hope so. because if im throwing a code. they will do a visual inspection. and i will fail miserably "hey theres 2 extra cylinders in there!"
fowler someone said the codes are stored thats why im asking. and 2 years is good.
then i dont have to worry as much.
