Default obd1 into obd2 shock tower plug

ive seen a lot of threads involving this but none seem to talk about the connector im interested in. i have a 98 gsr obd2 shell that ive put a 94 gsr obd1 engine in using obd1 engine harness and ecu with a obd1-2 jumper. car starts right up but throws a cel and idles high 1500-2000rpm. there is one connector on the shock tower that has 2 wires on the obd1 side and 3 wires on the obd2 side. it looks like the two wires on the obd1 side go to an evap purge solenoid (based on wire color)

its the connectors at the bottom of the four in the pictures.

any help would be appreciated thank you

sorry last two pics are sideways, if you click them they turn right side up

Those plugs aren't needed as your using an obd1 Ecu. Check the code to see what it's for. The high idle could be from vacuum leak or iacv. Do you have the right plug plugged into the iacv? Tell me the wire colors of the iacv plug.

Yea jump the service connector with a piece of wire or paper clip. It's a two wire plug on the pass side under the glove box near the kick panel. You can google civic service connector to see what I'm talking about. Once the service plug is jumped you then can count the check engine light blinks to get the code.

iacv wire colors are yellow w/ black stripe and black w/ blue stripe

cel flashes 4 times looks to be crank sensor, could that mess with the idle?

That's the right colors for the iacv

Code 4 is for crank sensor which is in the distributor. It could be a broken wire or the sensor is bad. The distributor needs to be swapped for a good one or new one as no one sells just the crank sensor that I know of.

i checked it again just for peace of mind lol had a feeling like i was wrong. i was, missed the short flash right after the four long flashes. looks like its actually 41 for the o2 sensor, sorry about the confusion.

but that's good to know though everywhere i was reading said there was no crank sensor on the obd1 but i think they're talking about the crank fluctuation sensor?

Yea code 41 is for o2 sensor. It could be a bad o2,a broken wire in the o2 plug harness side or even an o2 not being plugged in.

Obd2 has its crank sensor by the crank pulley. It's actually a crank fluctuation sensor but all so has the crank sensor in the distributor. Obd1 only has the crank sensor in the distributor.

As for the idle you can try cleaning the iacv to see if that fixes the problem. Check for vacuum leaks and make sure timing is set right.

Hey! Do you still have the car? I have a few questions...
I want to buy a 99 coupe shell and I have a full eg b20v engine obd1 harness and obd1 ecu. Can I run it on the ek? Is it plug and play?
