OBD1 in EF - MAP cel 5 problem (already searched) please help!
Ok, I got my swap done, wired my dizzy which was keeping it from starting for 1 whole month, and it's running nicely until now. I start the car, then after the car gets warmed up, code 5 gets tripped, and the engine's idle jumps from 1k to 2k immediately. I've tested the map sensor electronically, from the ecu, the wiring, and the unit itself. Vacuum-wise I've tried plugging it up, I've tried connecting it to the TB nipple (where in many pics Ive seen it hooked directly up to) and the sudden change in vacuum makes it idle at 3k! I've also tried running both the map vacuum lune and the TB nipple straight to the intake pipe. none of these things are working. Anybody have pics of an OBD1 B16A in an EF chassis that uses a firewall mounted MAP sensor? I've done so many searches here and on SHO and I can't find the right info. thanks!
BTW, this is intermitten, but it happens more often than not. I could go, start the car, it would be fine. then shut it off, then it will happen as soon as I start the car.
