obd1 distributor any better than an obd0?
I have been looking into converting to obd1 and have seen people rewire obd0 distributors to work with obd1 computers. Is there any performance gain in using obd1 over obd0 distributors? Or are they just the same distributor with different wiring plugs? I have searched to no avail.

Nope, they're actually not the same, their internal spline fires at a different pulse rate making a nonOBD distributor different that an OBD1/2... This is why an nonOBD distributor is incompatble with an OBD1/2 ECU, or an OBD1/2 distributor with a nonOBD ECU... OBD1/2 are the same with a different connectors, and there's absolutely no performance advantage. If the car is running "factory" ECU then I prefer an OBD1 system with all OBD2 sensors/connectors... The newer plugs just look cleaner and as some of you probably know, I am very very picky about wiring... The injectors are also different... Just about all '91 and older injectors are low impedance and run an inline restistor pack... '92+ OE Honda injectors are all high impedance (their resistor is built into them)... It is however possible to run nonOBD injectors with a OBD1/2 ECU or vise versa... That's just in the wiring... Hope this answers your question... Peace
