i cannot get the OBD1 conversion running well. the engine is a stock (functionally) D16A6, with a non-VTEC OBD1 distributor (TD41U) with OBD1 conversion harnesses on a P06 ECU that is running Neptune Demon.
i have been getting CKP code sporadically and seemingly at high RPM/load only. lately, the ECU went into limp mode after a full throttle stint without a code.
i also do not have a proper O2 reading (i am using the stock one wire sensor). i have replaced the distributor with no effect.

i haven't gotten a stock ECU, and even a stock ECU would not work for me, the engine is an OBD0 engine.

why would the plug wires be the culprit all of the sudden? they performed well for all these years in the OBD0 configuration.

I have kept the O2 sensor enabled, as I have connected my stock one to it. It is most likely a ground issue with that, but I am not as concerned about that as I am about the ckp code and now a mysterious limp mode.

Are you using a dizzy adapter? If so you may want to resistance check your adapter. Same thing with the CKP wiring at your ecu adapter, but like earlier said might be good if you could check a stock ECU if you have access.
Also this could be random but I'm not sure what brand harness you are using

I think you might have nailed it. Using cheap ebay adapters. (Wires and molex connectors are just wires and connectors, right?)
I will need to check the integrity of that harness.

it was indeed the CKP/O2 wiring on the harness. the CKP and O2 wires off the OBD0 plug both went to the CKP pin on the OBD1 plug. i snipped and spliced the O2 wire to its correct location on the OBD1 plug and the system is operating nominal now.
