Default obd0-obd1 trouble shooting ??

i did the convo useing a conversion harness it was made by a kid that i dont really think knows alot about the whole thing i wish i would have spent a little more and got it from blown90hatch because he could prob just tell me what to do and my car would fire right up but anyways.....

my dizzy is getting power. 12v to the black/yellow wire and it is getting ground (from the motor) but im not getting spark. whats the deal??

im getting a code 16 (one long blink a pause then 6 short blinks) which is fuel injector's everything is hooked up right on the injector's (pretty shure) and they are working i can hear then and smell gas

just no spark whats going on if its getting power should it be sparking?

No code 4, 8, or 9 (CKP/TDC/CKP)??? I made a nonOBD-OBD1 jumper for my friend's Rex a couple months back and it worked fine... Did your motor run fine when it was nonOBD, or did you even run it??? I'm just double checking you here but since you're running an OBD1 ECU are you running an OBD1/2 distributor now??? The 16 is something wrong with your injectors but it could be a number of things... Everything in your jumper wired up correctly, atleast what you know of? Let me know, and i'll let you know if i think of anything else... Good Luck

In your first post you said that your distributor is getting power...

Is it getting power?? If so and your ignitor is good you should have a spark... If all the sensors are wired up correctly and you have no codes then I'm wondering first if you're still running a nonOBD distributor (which fires at a different pulse rate than OBD1/2) or your ignitor is bad... Good Luck again

The code 16 could be caused by just one of the injectors not wired properly. So you could be smelling gas but not all of the injectors may be working. If you get the spark problem figured out and it idles like crap start looking into that.

i have no idea. If the dizzy is getting power why isnt it sparking???

im useing the obd1 dizzy

i was thinking that it might be the ignitor or the coil because its getting power to that black/yellow wire when key it to on position

what do you mean the blk/yel wire is 12vdc hot but is grounded??? If it's grounded then you have a short... And YES, as long as the distributor has power and the ignitor/coil are good you should have a spark...
