Default Removing radiator hoses

Ok so today I decided to work on this leak that has been persisting for about a week. The hose that is torn is the tranny to radiator hose. However, to get to it in my car (91' Integ) I have to remove the bottom radiator hose so I can fit tools in. I've never taken it out before but my guess is the pressure will send antifreeze pouring out. If I unplug it and hold a tray or something underneath to catch the fluid I should be okay right? Will it come spraying out? Btw I have had my car off for hours now so I should have pressure going through but I'm not sure.

open your radiator cap... that'll relieve any pressure... you could also just save yourself the trouble and drain the fluid out of the petcock that way it drippy drips real clean like into a container so you can re-use it if it's still ok...
