o2 heater circuit malfunction
since it grounds through the ecu, do i need a new ecu? it grounds through the ecu so that it can cut ground and turn the heating element off once it reaches temp. can i just run a dedicated ground and allow the heater to run constantly?
Igp1&2 are signals for the ECU/ECM to turn on, they will be the same color leads as the output of the injector relay, [that is the lead on your PGM-FI Main relay that has power when you turn on the ign.] those color leads will be the only two leads at the ECU/ECM that are that color.
Both IGP1 and IGP2 must have power when ign. switch is in the run AND the stat positions.94

No, you can not run "dedicated" grounds to the sensor, or Honda/Acura would have done that, [I assume].
Find IGP1 and test it, it will bew the only other lead to the ECU/ECM that is that same color.
You may not have other probems if IGP2 has power but IGP1 does not, I have never run into one that has power to one IGP and not the other it's always been no power to both.
It is something I will have to check out, next time I have a Honda/Acura in the shop, both IGP1&2 get their power from a single lead from the injector relay that splits into two leads someplace betweem the PGM-FI Main Relay and the ECU/ECM. 94
