I was driving in 5th gear at about 1800 RPMs and my check engine light popped on, I checked the code and it is throwing code 1 oxygen sensor. Is the sensor bad or is this something to do with going to slow in 5th?

 

its nothing major... try to reset your computer and if that code pop up again than try to replace a O2. hit me up if you have any other questions

The next time I started the car the CEL wasn't on and I drove around and it didn't come on, but then I let it sit for awhile and drove it again and the CEL came back on when I was flooring it. Any ideas? Or is it just time for a new o2?

 

listen for your main relay going on and off, you should hear a clicking sound when you get the code, if this happens check your ground leads around your engine (thermostst). Does your engine sort of hesitate when you get this code, and do you only get this when you accelerate hard, if so check your grounds.

 

My thermostat is bad, could this affect the o2? Today is the first day that it has thrown o2 before it was throwin IAT but I fixed that then it ran fine for a couple of days and now o2?

 

Could the length of the wires connecting the o2 to the wire harness affect anything?
