O2 bypass???
what is it.
this kid i kno got some type of chip for his ecu and he said it wouldn't work unless
he got an O2 bypass. to pass the sensor.
what do these do and is it ok to bypass the sensor?
just wonderin cuz i'm gettin a Code one on my rex(o2 sensor)
and i don't wanna get a new one cuz i'm swappin the engine in june

Probably the chip is set to run in open loop only....meaning that the ECU doesnt have to read signals from the o2 sensor to compute for idle and a/f values. This is why the O2 sensor is bypassed.
Used o2 sensors cost like $30. If you're getting a code 1, check for a short in the wiring or something. That may solve it without having to replace the whole thing.

Same thing happened to me. CEL comes on after a while of driving. A wire in my O2 hit the headers so the insulation melted. That caused a short and threw the CELs.
