number of bearings needed.
Im pricing out how much it will cost for my rebuild. I have a b18b. How many of each bearings will I need:
main bearings, upper and lower half
rod bearings
main bearings, upper and lower half
rod bearings
Thats what I figured. I couldn't remember how many mains there were. It was just plane stupid of me to ask how many rod bearings I need!
4 rods, duh!
How do I know what width or "color" to order. I haven't got my Helms manues yet, so Im still trying to figure things out. Should I not order the bearings till I tear the motor apart?

And please don't forget to plasti-gauge them when installing....just use the codes as a STARTING point. So most likely your gonna order the bearings that were originally installed in your motor, plasti-gauge, then find out you gotta order more to get the correct fit, sometimes your lucky, sometimes your not.
And also remember, it IS acceptable to use a one step bigger bearing in one half, so as to get the tolerances that much closer (this was information from the ENDYN site when there message board was up). Would any care to confirm this, so you don't think I'm off my rocker here, as the site is still down

Im not forgeting about plastiguage. I am worried though that I'll find out I need a different sized bearing. I will only have 7-10 days to do my rebuild so I'll have to like next day air them to my house or somthing.
First thing you need to do is buy a helms. This will help with decoding the bearings and give the specs on the engine. I just rebuilt my engine with all new gaskets, bearings, seals, GSR water pump and timing belt, type r oil pump, JE pistons, Eagle rods, ARP head bolts. Ported the head and manifold, valve job, cleaned the block. I did every thing myself and it took over a month to do. So don't try to rush the rebuild you'll regret it later. I got most of parts from http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/ just look under the CRV majority of the parts are the same as the LS. If you would like any pointers just give me a Email
