which nrg combo to go with
Ok so i posted in the crx section without much luck so i am hoping maybe i will get some guidance in here. I am looking at getting an nrg quick release system for my 88 crx. I have done some reading and cant really find the answer to my questions. I would like to know what set up i should go with if i am wanting to keep the wheel as close to my stock location as possible. I am not going with a deep dish wheel. I am just going to go with a relatively flat steering wheel. It is my autox car and also just a car i drive when i want to have fun. I dont want to be eating my steering wheel. i know they have a new thin quick release but i think there are only certain hubs it can go with. i am just kinda confused on it. So what combo of parts should i order to keep my wheel at stock location? Thank you for the help guys
I gave a friend the low-profile version and it sits really close to the head light and windshield washer stalks. If you're wearing gloves or have really big hands, your knuckles will hit the stalks when you turn.
I said low profile HUB and regular sized quick-release. I have this combo installed.
If you install low profile everything then expect NO clearance.

i wish they would give the measurements of all the combo's... that would be helpful. I tried calling them but nobody ever answered. It seems like a lot of the ones i have seen are really sticking out there. I feel like some of these people have to be gnawing on their steering wheel its so close to them. on the same note i don't want to have clearance issues with my hands. Especially since it is an autox car... I'll end up ripping my turn signals off. It's a hard life when you are picky....

Well if you're going to ask the same question over and over prepare to get the same answers.
You can PLAINLY see from this image how far back you'll be sitting.

can you give me a length measurement off of that? I mean i can visually see it, but that doesn't give me any dimensioning to go off of. Either an over all length or even a measurement of how far out it comes from the bezel around the column (that would be close enough)
I'm telling you! It puts it right about where stock is!! For the THIRD time! If you're going sweat a millimeter or two then keep your **** stock!
lol ok but if i am chewing on my steering wheel once i put this thing on i am placing sole blame on you! On the same note if it is right then you will get the credit
Whatever you do the end result is on you. No one is forcing you to do any of this. If I was as big of a worry wart as you maybe I'd seek out someone that has this combo and actually sit in the drivers seat. That's the ONLY way you'll be satisfied for sure.
I wont really blame you. Ya i had the same thought, but i don't know ANYBODY around here with a quick release. Especially in an ef. But you sound pretty confident so i am going to take your word for it. I'm a lot better off by doing that than just taking a shot in the dark at it
Just for you.
I measured the hatch. It is stock. From the dash to inside of stock wheel facing driver-7.75".
I measured the coupe. NRG short hub, gen 2 quick release and steering wheel. From dash to NRG steering wheel-just under 8 inches.

You are the man! thank you very much for the help sir!
So other the to pimp your ride, is there a good reason you are going to spend $300-$400 on a QR?
I could think of a lot of things I could get for my 94 Integra, [that I autocross] for $300- $400 that would actually help autocross performance, a QR, [of any kind] will not increase performace in any way, just saying. 94
