Nothing left but to TUNE : Help Needed
Ok, the engine is almost complete and I've got to figure out how I'm going to tune this car. I don't know whether to go with Hondata, a chipped ECU, or just the standard cam gear/FPR/SAFC.
Here's the set up:
F22B2 SOHC (non-vtec)
Crower rods
Wiseco 11:1 pistons
ACL bearings
balanced rotating assembly
Portflow head with Ferrea valvetrain
WEB camshaft
AEM FPR
AEM Cam Gear
port matched IM
Gude TB
Injen intake
Knology ignition
DC SS header/test pipe/GREDDY EVO exhaust
This engine is going in a 1994 Accord LX AUTOMATIC. I have done the search/re-search/homework thing, and I still don't know which way to go with the engine management. Any advise, pro or con, on any of these options will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

i wanna know about how much power your setup runs after tuned
EDIT: it might not be THE BEST, but it will make the most power out of your car without a 1K plus price

Thanks for the link!
That looks like something to check into. My only worry when using a chipped ECU is damaging my engine with some F'd up program. It seems to me like the SAFC/Hondata/chipped ECU are all going to cost me about the same ($300 +/-), it's the tuning that's going to get expensive.
Any other ideas/suggestions?

Get a chipped ECU from a reputible company. Also degree the cam to make sure it is at TDC when the rest of engine is there. When you do a timing belt job or anytime or mess with the cams and try and put them back on TDC they or it gets a little off +/-. So when you start advancing or retarding cam timing you really don't know where you're starting from. Mike
Yes you can use it on automatics, just not the S100 or S200 models, at least according to their web page. I believe the Stage 2/3/4 will work.
OK, i would say that with the stock ECU chipped would beok, but it's ok if you don't trust me, here are some other things you can look at:
- Vafc (but what about the timming?)
- AEM EMS
- Any other standalones
What would be also a good point is talk to your tuner, the best thing would be to use the standalone he is more comfortable with, at least i would guide myself with that.
BTW: i didn't read any oil cooler in your setup, so i would check this out https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=445156

Okay, let me tag another question to this thread.
The local tuner (the only one I'm aware of) just went belly up. Does anyone have contact information for a good tuner in the central Georgia/South Carolina area? GZERO makes a good point. Maybe I should just woory about finding a good tuner first, and go with whatever system he's best at tuning.
