Not a honda but problem with brakes
Just put new calipers and pads, bled the system on a 2000 3.8 mustang, all stock. The brakes never flet that great on the car but after doing the work it feels worse. It takes almost twice as long to stop the car and the brakes just don't grip at all, can not lock them up. When I press down on the peddle it doesn't feel like the brakes are gripping. The pedal feels fairy stiff and when you get to certain point get spongy or just doesn't do much. Complete opposite of my honda when I step on the brakes it stops. I am just wondering if I didn't get them bled well or if there might be something wrong with the master cylinder or the booster. Any help would be appreciated.
Either way about bedding the pads it's really bad. As far as something being on the rotors, something I haven't even thought of, will try cleaning them.
Yeah, perhaps the rotors or pads are contaminated, that happened to me once, i got c.v. axle grease on the rotors and that got onto the pads so that wasn't a good combination
did you machine the rotors? if you install new pads on galzed rotors you will get bad braking since the pads have not seated the material.
you want to always resurface the rotors when you replace pads.
