Default normal water temp for a sohc?

hey guys just want to know what is the normal water temp for a sohc? I had the head ported and intake, zex aggresive cam, 20 over piston,headers. I have change the thermostat to 180". but it p still running to 210' can anyone help me please?

That's not normal. Do the regular coolant system checks.

okay I got it down to 200' is that okay? I had to change the thermostat to 170 but it still go up to 200" during normal driving.

When you change the thermostat to 180 degrees or whatever it changes the temp your coolant system starts circulating sooner. There is no reason to change this to a lower temp unit because your car is optimized for a 180 degree unit.

The problem is that once your thermostate opens up, allowing coolant in the engine, it is unable to cope with the heat generated. You need to find the obstruction in your cooling system preventing you from keeping your temp down. Check your coolant level, run it w/o the cap on to remove bubbles, etc.

go to the honda dealer and buy an oem thermostat for your car. ever aftermarket thermo I have ever used runs way to hot.

The oem ones are quality and usually dead on calibrates some of the aftermarket **** has a crappy tolerance and can be off by a number of degrees.
