Normal compression for B16a?
I did a compression test a few weeks ago and think I did something wrong since my numbers seem wrong. When I tested the engine I cranked the starter for about 10 turns for each cylinder. My results were 205psi per cylinder with number 2 cyl. reading about 204psi, very consistent. When I told my father of the results he said that those numbers were too high and that I must have tested it wrong. He then tested it, cranking the engine about 5-6 turns per cylinder and got 187psi across the board. Which numbers are right? And are they acceptable numbers coming from a b16a?
Thanks.
Thanks.

How many times should I crank the engine when testing the compression? Is 10 fine? Should I keep cranking until the gauge quits rising?</TD></TR></TABLE>
5-10, no more needed...

I had 220+ each cylinder... worst being 220, best being 230. A recent test showed 215+ all across, so I think I may have carbon deposits. Raene had 215 or so evenly, I believe, and his motor runs really strong.
