Default Non V-tech to V-tech

Hey i was just wondering if someone would tell me if its possable to bolt a h22a head down on to a f22b block the reason i ask as i have 1992 Honda Prelude Non V-Tech nad have spent to much money on the engine in the past to just scrap the whole thing. If its not possable could someone please give me a list of things i could do to maybe give it a bit more power i have already done an Air Induction System, Mild Cams and a port and polished head. cheers

What engine do you even have? F22 or H23?

its never old,
anyone who posts VTECH or VTEK or some other utterance should be scolded.
even if hundreds have been scolded before him.

as long as it doesnt end up being 3pages of flames,
a few replys and a "VTECH < VTEC" picture should be fine.

ive heard its been done, but never seen it. i know it would require a lot of machine and it wouldn't be for any newb. Sorry, but if u dont know its VTEC, ur not ready to do a major swap like that. My 2 cents would be to do a h22 swap, because ur gonna save time, money and have less problems.

I have a 2.2L non v-tec dohc. I pretty sure correct me if im wrong that v-tec is all in the head variable valve timing and a high rev cam. So i thought that maybe you could take a h22a v-tec head and bolt that down on a f22b non v-tec block. And then piggy back a v-tec computer.

You are right, the VTEC system is housed completely in the head. some words of caution though, and im not an expert in this regard, but you will need to do some modifications to the main wiring harness, you will need a new ECU that is programmed to engage VTEC and there will be all sorts of other issues. In fact man, I used to have the attitude that a car isn't worth it if it isn't modified, but $8000 later (H22 swap, fubar, turbo f23, pooched on me today at 9psi) I am not so sure. Just a word of caution. (though your idea is a little safer than my turbo idea, and i tried putting a OBD1 H22 into my 01 accord, then it didn't work cause the motor was dropped more than once by shipping we think.)

also oiling ****,l passages in the block, feed lines for vtec, etc.

its not as simple as you make it sound.
