so i got my motor back in finaly. (b16a1) OBD-0 im down to 2 codes from 4. the 2 i have now are 8 (Top dead center) and 14 (idle air control ?)
would eather one of these codes be the reason why i have no v-tec? the car runs perfect other than that and because of it my car red lines at 7k
i also tested the idle control valve on the back of the intake mani and ot works fine the screen is pritty dirty but how do i remove it for cleaning ?
thanks for any input

"It is not BS. My post count is higher then yours so I know more then you."
you may ask more questions proving you know less or could it be posible that you just type random sh*t to get more posts?

any time that your check engine light is on your v tec will not operate.cleaning your iacv will not help your ploblem.you have a wiring problem that is causing a hard code.make sure that you do not have your iac connector switched with you air temp sensor "the white two wire sensor on the intake runner".on the tdc code you might try to use compressed air and lightly blow out your distributor.and also make sure none of the dist.connector wires have backed out.

thanks my code 8 is gone!!
it was a loose wire thanks jonsswapshop <U></U>
now i reset the ecu and now i idle surge form 1,100 to 1,300rpm fast like 2-3 times back and fourth per second so the code 14 i've had like for ever and v-tec still is fine so this is a new problem with the idle jump any ideas?

the idle is still crap the throtle body flat head screw does nothing really, it drives perfect otherwise just drive like 3 miles and v-tec it there so thats good but as i said i've always had the code 14 and never the idle problem so im lost.
this is way i think i have the idle problem.
the 2 screws too the right of the intake on the throtle body the vacume thing was never there but again i never had a problem whit the idle juping at all before it idled at like 450-600 rpm
