No spark DEAD CAR
Here goes.......My car is at the shop getting tuned and he was tuning it, and around 6500rpms it backfired bad and the stoped running. He tried to pop the clutch to restart it and nothing. So he got it back and found out it wasn't getting any spark. It was running on all stock ingition. He hooked it up to some computer and said it was the ingition control.( inside the distributor) so we took one out of another dx distributor and still no spark. I think it could be the coil? (and he said he checked all the fuses) We never swaped it out.
i bet its the coil. when we did the swap on my friends crx we couldnt find out why it wasnt sparking. we changed the igniter and after that didnt work we did the coil.
i think that is your best bet.

Yea.....I think soo too. I have to exchange it at the junk yard, and if they don't take it back then I'm gonna switch the coil.
Are coils from B16's and D's all the same?

Swapping the ignitor didn't do anything to fix these...
We put in the the new dis. and the same thing drove a little bit and no spark. So we by passed the stock coil and hooked up the MSD and it fired right up. So it ended up blowing 2 stock coils. What do you think could be causing this? But it doesn't blow the MSD coil.
Is the wireharness arcing on the motor at all there maybe short? If not the distributor it could also be the computer try put a your ecu in a friends car with similiar swap, u can try to putt another ecu in yur car, or u can also do this with distributor. Also check check ign fuse (15 amp) in the fuse box in the dash and the engine bay ? Hopefully this works or steers u to the problem but if u find the problem please let me know ok?
Well the car has been running fine with no problems for about a month. I was just curouis why it would go through 2 stock coils and not blow the MSD coil.
