no reverse while car is running
it'll go into gear while the motor is not running, but will not go into reverse while the car is running.
no big deal for me but, why wont it go into revesre when the car is running?

check the shift linkage then...if it was clutch related it should grind (like it you try to put it into gear without putting your foot on the clutch). It could also be the reverse synchro but not for sure.

here's what im thinking
when the cars off, the mainshaft is not spinning so that the reverse gear slector is doing all the work changing it into reverse.
