hello just a question i got this 2001 Accord from a tow yard lien sale and it came with a basic black Honda key but i see the car has a push button start. i push it and nothing happens the button is not lite up
i have a Altima with push start and i cant start it without having the key close to the car, my question is how am i able to start the car with just a basic key no chip or anything?

 

2001 didn't have push button start.

Whatever is in your car is aftermarket and may not even be a push start button.

 

It’s likely aftermarket with a blue key fob to engage the remote start. If you don’t have that fob, you will need to remove the RS setup and return it back to stock
