Default No power in my type r

Hay everyone this is my first post on this site having trouble w/ this car and wonder if anyone know the answer.

When i look at the car on diagnostic tool the vtec selonoid stays on at idle that looks fine, but the pressure switch is on at idle as well and when the car is driven the vtec pressure switch turns off when vtec kicks in is this right?

pulled the check engine light and it appears to deteroating catalytic converter. The car has jdm 4-1 header aem cold air intake and exhaust. Went to the dyno and it didnt put down more than 127 ATW I knew something was wrong but do you think it will yeild like 30 horsepower just from the cat being clogged. I have a cat on order and will be in tuesday. Anything else you might think it is

If it is your cat converter, you will see much better numbers with the new
cat. I gain back 22whp when I swapped my bad cat out with a straight pipe.
You car should be in the 165-170ish whp range. Keep us posted!

good luck!

I didn't believe I lost that much with a bad cat myself until I seen my dyno results.

I've seen it happen to 2 of my friends, running too rich and clogging the cat and losing tremendous amounts of power.

Did you friends have stock cats or a aftermarket cat? I just ordered a carsound 94006 ( trying to stop running the straight pipe on the streets) and was wondering if they are prone to clog up or getting blown out.

Now I really want to know the results cuz I have a 00 civic ex SOHC V-tec with custom CAI DC sport 4-2,2-1 header, and just resently my car started running like s***, well within the last couple of months, but it's getting much worst even with the header, I'm still runnin stock exhaust, do you think it would be a bad idea to hollow out the cat? Do you think it will disturb the O2 sensor that is mounted right on top of the cat?

I agree, I had the same problem, and I just hollowed out my car yesterday, and that was all it took to get the power back, but something else is wrong, I've been throwin a code for about a week

I think it might be an o2 sensor, but damn if I know.

well everyone the type r went to the dyno pulled 170 atw by taking the cat off. Started off w/ 127 prior to the cat. It must have been clogged up pretty bad. w/ only three pulls on the aem computer the car made another 8 hp. It still has room for more tuning.
