Default No Compression in Cylinder 2???

Hi, I brought my car into the shop recently. I have a 1999 B18C1 motor swap in my del sol. The car sounded really loud when I have it gas, and was shaking at idle, with the revs jumping, and the car stalling sometimes.

My shop did a compression test, and cylinder 2 didn't have any compression. Does anyone have any ideas what it might be?

I had zero compression in cylinder 3 and sure it was bent valves.

You guys were right, my shop says that it's cause of bent valves. Also he mentioned that they might send my head out to check for cracks.

The whole cost of this is not cheap. What's my best alternative? Should I just get everything repaired normally? Or do I have the option to upgrade? If the head is fine, can I upgrade to a B20 block and use all my vtec components to convert it to B20/VTEC? Or should I go searching for another longblock?

If you guys could suggest some possible upgrades that'll be great. Thanks.

While your head is off, and your valves out, go ahead and put a ITR valvetrain in, or maybe a Skunk2 valve train, might as will since everything is all apart, and when you get it back, you will be like "Dayuum!!" haha

Maybe you could have the shop send the head out for testing, and then buy a Helms, and consult H-T religiously and do the work yourself. Or if your head turns out to be cracked, don't sweat, get a B16A head and build a poor mans ITR (I use that loosly)

get a b20 block no matter what head you get there is still no replacement for displacement because the gsr head flows just fine. unless your just willing to poor the money into it????

Except his block is fine.

All you need is new valves, man. Pick up a set of Skunk2's flat bottom valves (pick up some CR), and slap in a good valvetrain while you are in there.

If the valve is bent, it had to contact the piston. Depending on the damage, he'd probably want to get new pistons. All that trouble...I'd definately consider a B20.

Thanks for all the help guys, you guys are great!

I took a look at my engine today, there was a hole almost half an inch wide in one of my valves. That's why I had no compression. My head is off getting inspected, and ported and polished. I'm kind of broke cause it's costing me a lot for everything and labour especially. But I think I found a set of used 98 TypeR cams, I'm just not sure if they are going to be real typeR cams, and that I'm not getting ripped. Any advice?
