Default Help - No compression in one cylinder

Somebody help me out here. I've got zero compression in the #2 cylinder and 210 across the others. I thought it might be bent valves, so I pulled the head and had a machine shop test the head; no problems with any of the valves. I checked the timing and it's alright. I checked the piston and there isn't any damage that I can see, and the rings are new. The deck surface of the block and head are okay too. I can't figure out why I'm not getting any compression.

If anybodies got any thoughts or ideas, please help me out.

Thanks in advance

Did you try pouring oil into the spark plug hole when you did the test? If you did, and compression jumped up, it is definately the rings.

If you're getting 0 psi in that cylinder on a compression test, you've got a pretty big hole somewhere or the valves aren't opening. Even with faulty rings and less that perfect sealing valves you would at least have some compression. Have you checked to see if one of the rocker arms is broken or the cam is flat? You should have noticed it if you had the head off, it would stick out like a sore thumb.

There is obviously a reason you were doing the compression test. What is the story behind this problem? When did it start? Did it get progressively worse or did it happen all of the sudden?

Mr.S is also right, if adding oil to the cylinder causes the pressure to go up then you do most likely have broken rings.

Unfortunately, the damage caused by the TB bolt was on the #4 cylinder, so it really doesn't make sense.

you may have a flat spot in your cam or a broken or fucked up rocker arm. did the needle on the guage move at all? pull the head off and dump some oil on top of the piston and see if it leaks down around it.
