Default Nice Surprise

I purchased a 90 dx w/ b16 for a good price a few months back. One reason for the good price was that the seller said the the tranny's lsd was shot and it had the typical y1 2nd-3rd grind. I finally got a chance to pull apart the tranny today and discovered that after cleaning up the diff I saw "Quaife" stamped on it??? Then notice that the case was split sometime before. I thought that the OE LSD from the factory were the clutch-type, therefor the reasoning behind the "shot" lsd sounded ok for a beat OE unit.

I was told that quaife LSD's do not go bad??? If they do, how can you tell with the diff out of the tranny? I did not notice any metal in the case and everything looked fine.

Any feedback would be great... I bought a OBX to replace the OE unit, but if quaife is good I will just reuse it.

Thanks,

ive heard some shady stories concerning the obx lsd, crappy customer service, and a warranty that isnt much good, no first hand experience though, id say return that thing before you install it and go ahead and get a good one. As far as the quaife that was in there im not too sure
