new tranny + new clutch..HELP
Well Ive been driving around on a stock '91 LS tranny with bad snycros for sometime now so I decided to go ahead and put my tranny I was saving for my turbo setup on my LS motor (y1 w/lsd; 88-91 JDM SiR tranny) Well today my clutch went out.....According to my Invoice I had a ACT Xtreme Kit w/HD street disc...Im not sure exactly what I got now that I think about it...Xtreme Pressure Plate, and street disc? Anyhow it only lasted 20k...I thought a performance clutch would last a little longer...Im not sure what I should do so I thought i would ask first.....What should I get and what shouldnt I get...Thanks guys!
PS I think ACT was supposed to be one of the best.....how long to your ACT clutches last, as a daily driver (say 40 miles a day?)

Believe me you got plenty of use out of that ACT. They usually dont even last that long. 20k is a long time. If you want better quality try using a Clutchmaster. You wont be disappointed. They are quite a bit more money but it is well worth it.
Good luck
Good luck
Well Im taking the car to the mechanic on Thrusday (I wish I could do it myself
but oh well) He thinks the disc is fine; it might be the pressure plate...Ill keep ya posted....I ordered an Exedy and xact prolite flywheel either way...so yeah!
