Default New TRAKLITE wheels...tech question..

I guess Motegi, yes, Motegi has come out with a new lightweight race wheel called the Traklite.

It actually looks like a nice wheel, and the specs seem nice(15x6.5 @ 10lbs)...I was just wondering if anyone has used or seen them on the street yet? This might belong in appearence forum, but im more concerned with how feel and ride, rather than how they look ...Thanks- Jim

if thats cast id stay away from it and if its forged then itll be a grip.

when looking for a lite weight afordable wheel you kinda need to stay around mid 12 lbs to mid 13's

anthing less then that and i wouldn't really trust it

It's amusing to me how everyone looks down upon a cast wheel, even though every single Integra/Civic/Prelude stock wheel that I know of is cast.

Forged is nice for track cars but the added strength isn't really necessary for a street car. That wheel would be plenty strong for street/autox. If the price were right I would buy them.

Cheers,
Sean

Wow, thanks for the advice guys. I dunno much about casting and forging, so all comments are a big help! keep em comin! Is it true some track wheels can get "mushy" or soft...Ive heard rumors of 388's and regamaster's losing there strength in a short period of time..any truth to that?

wow no one in the post ever said anything bad about cast wheels in general.

please don't post **** bashing what people are saying when they NEVER SAID IT

Nor did I single you out as the person who said it.

I encourage you to seek your own advice about bashing people and the things they say (or don't say).

My point was, many others have bashed cast wheels. Perhaps 'everyone' was the wrong word to use. I'll restate it as 'some people' then if that will make you feel better.

Cheers,
Sean

**** ive never rocked forged wheels too much money for this kid, rather spend the money on some motor or suspension parts.

Yeah, I was thinking the exact same thing, but it looks like Motegi has made a very nice attempt, maybe evan a good wheel, but im def. gonna wait until I see a trust worthy review. I was hoping to get my hands on some before they get played out worse than rotas . Thanks for all the help yalls.
