new pistons with just honing the block.
Im thinking about some b16 pistons w/new rings in my LS/Vtec. I REALLY REALLY do not want to pull my motor out again, so is it a good idea just to run a hone through a few times, clean it up REALLY good, through the pistons and rods in, and call it good?
I will also install new ARP rod bolts and new bearings.

yes you can do it like that.............unless you have a block that has 100k+ miles on it then it should be OK.
make sure you clean the cylinders up really well. use new rings and do a proper break in as well and you should be fine............

Well my block has about 93k on it
Think it will still be okay? This is just going to be a temporary thing until I get a b20 block. I want to see the MAX I can get out of a "stock" LS/Vtec setup before I build a b20.

theres no real way to tell other than to do it. you might have had enought wear that just honing it might necesitate a rebore. dont do it if your not prepared to pull the motor and have it rebored. at 90+k you got to prepare for the worst. (murphys law)
youll prolly be ok though i put standard bore pistons in my old d15 and they fit fine (it had 120k at the time)
