clinder walls with stratches
i just pulled out the pistons in a b18 block and all the walls look good but for the 3rd one it has a few straches in it. is it ok to just run a hone through it and put the b16 pistons and in it. how will this hurt me the straches that is. or do i need a new block "i hope not"
waht sort of sctatches, caused by what?
how deep? any pictures?
a hone on all four cylinders may help, depending on hte depth, in most cases you wont need a new block...

i dont know what they are from maybe dirt or a bad ring. im going to try to hone it out and see what happens but what i want to know is i should be ok right?
Must be them damn piston skirts scraping against your walls. Check the depth of the scores. I'd measure all the cylinders for out-of-round and taper because a bore might be needed before that hone job.

B18a's are old. Its safe to assume high milage, and out of round cylinders. I have a b18a and every cylinders is tapered and/or out of round. If you dont do it right you'll do it again. It wont take long for the rings to die. Make sure it right before you assemble it.
