Default New parts

I'm looking into rebuilding my head for some more HP. What would be some good things to get done for about $1500? I wont be doing the work myself since I dont have the tools or the knowledge. I'm deathly afraid to mess with my internals. Don't want to jack anything up.

Lighten up the valve train as much as possible and depending on the rest of the vehicle maybe porting it would be useful but a good port job will likely eat up most of the budget

Gude claims up to 55 hp on their built head for under 2k...Ive heard that Gude takes too long so what did everyone else do to their head for extra power? I dont know much about internals so I'm trying to learn. Only thing I know about is cams. Im a moron.

I got eagle rods, JE 12.5:1 pistons .020 over pistons, it all installed and balanced for 1500 total. Should be fun to see what it puts out now.

Hey let me know what kind of difference you see with that. Maybe I'll build the block instead. Is that $1500 to pull the block and reinstall it?
