new engine lacks power
I recently replaced the old F22A out of my 93 lude with another F22A, this one is jdm. I am not sure how much power I have without as dyno but I swear my 1.6L mazda protege will outrun it. What the hell is wrong, where's the power at. Timing is correct, cold air intake, spark plugs new and gapped. any advice?
dude. do a compression test on each cylinder. this is a super cheap and effective test. if all checks out and ur willing to get dirty then check for belt valves, do a drip down test, check for correct fuel mixture, check ignition timing with a spark strobe tool. if u have any buddies that work in a car shop this would be a BIG bonus.
The old engine was blown when I received the car as a gift. I dont know what to expect as far as power but I would think that my mazda protege (LOL) would be considerably slower with that huge 1.6L that it has.lol Compression tests are good and the engine was tested before it left the warehouse of where I purchased it.
