I just put in my new clutch (ebay stage 3 w/ lightwieght flywheel) When i put in first gear its horrible!! i can rev it to like 4 and try to let it out easy but it just stalls. all the other gears arnt that bad....and when i put it in reverse it works fine. i was messing with the clutch cable but that doesnt change anything. Why would it be so hard just in first gear but not as bad in reverse???

 

Did u fully break in the clutch first, with normal drivng?

 

well, i just rebuilt the engine and ive only driven it twice and only put on like 4 miles at the most.....i cant even drive the thing!!!! its so hard to get it out of first gear! i got stage 3 cause i built it for turbo....there is no turbo on it now though.....is there something i should do or what man!? i can rev to like 4grand and it still just pretty much stalls out everytime.

 

So ur saying that the pedel is hard to press down? Im sorry im not fully understanding what u r saying. And also a clutch should be broke in for atleast 500 miles.

 

no, the pedal feels alright its just i can barely get it out of first gear cause it stalls everytime. I rev it up to like 4 grand and try to let it out and it still stalls.....i know that its a new clutch and i have to break it in, i just rebuilt the engine i have to break in everything!!! so if i just keep driving it for about 500 miles it will be easier to drive it out of first gear? this is my first time w/ performance, i dont know what to expect...i hope it will get better then this.

do you mean "get it out of first gear" meaning taht you cant initially move the car in first gear? or shifting from 1st to 2nd? Im having trouble understanding completely. Is the clutch sprung or unsprung?

 

maybe ur just not used to havin the new clutch w/the lightened flywheel...can u let it out slowly w/o stallin it?

 

ok, im sorry.....im not making myself clear at all.....first off it is sprung.....and yea,...i start it up.....push in the clutch put it in first try to let out on the clutch to start moving and it stalls...i try to go slow with the pedal doing it real easy and that doesnt help....i rev it up and kinda drop it and it still stalls.....once i get it moving its fine through all of the other gears....and reverse is fine too.
