Default never heard of this, but......

can a VTEC motor b swapped into a 89 prelude. preferably the H22??? ive never heard of it being done. looking at the car, the tranny almost looks identical to the H22 tranny. the shift linkage looks the same, motor mounts r in the same locations, even the clutch slave cylinder looks the same. but has anyone done it???? its not my car, local kid asked me about it, so i thought id look into it.

There is a guy here that swapped a H22 into his 91 Prelude. I don't know the specifics on the mounts and such. But according to the owner, the car pulls a lot better, but he lost some handling due to the weight increase of the motor. I don't know if that's BS or not, cause he can't really drive anyway.

show me these "books" that give specific information that show how to swap an h22 into an early prelude

honda-tech has some of the most intelligent people that have ever touched a honda.
if you cant find the information here, you wont find it at all.

I don't see him around much, but I will try and get some specifics from the shop that did the work. I believe that the shop rewired the car as well to use the H22 ecu. I'll IM you when I get the info.
