Default Need some advice for engine build.

Hello everybody

I have got my hands on a b16a 2nd gen block & crank and plan on building it up a little bit to drop in my civic. Right now for my top end i plan on running itr cams because i already have them and titanium springs and retainers. as for the botom end I was wondering if ctr pistons in a b16a block would be a good bet to go with. Also I was wondering if Stock rods would be able to handle the pistons and still make some power or would i have to use ctr rods also. I plan on using the stock crank(from a b16a). Basically i dont wont to make upseen power but enough, something that can handle 8500k+ rpms is mainly what i'm going for.

Any of your imput would be greatly apreciated.

Love
David Mooney

I see about 20 of these threads each week. None of which should be here, not one of them is productive for the forum in any way. People are so eager to skip the research and expect others who have already done it to answer for them. Im really tired of seeing it.

Before you ask if you can use ctr pistons AND rods in a B16a2 block, why not look into the rod lengths of the B16A1/2/3 and the CTR engine as well as the deck heights for each block. They are both well covered on this and other sites and easy to find when using the search function.

I really hope the mods step in and limit this kind of forum polution. Threads like these are the main reason myelf and any other person who can actually contribute to the tech growth and distribution of this forum have limited posting and participation in here. The level of knowledge has fallen off a cliff in this forum. Its almost completely newbies asking which cams, etc to use and asking how much pwoer they will make with this weeks imaginary build.
