need to remove the ball joint from the knuckle..help

do I just need to take the whole knuckle out and take it to a machine shop and have them press it out ?

Remove the c-clip and hit it with a BFH.

That's how I did it. However when I put in the new one, I used a piece of wood as a driver so I wouldn't damage it.

the cotter pin that goes through a hole to keep the bolt held onto the ball joint under the spindle.

does BFH stand for big fu@kin' hammer??
your local pep-boys or autozone will let you borrow a ball joint remover.

I damaged my ball joint by usint a bfh.
I need to replace it. Are you asking how to get the actual ball joint out of the knuckle ? If so , i need to know too.

I think you need a press to get it out of the knuckle. I have a new ball joint I just need to have it replaced

Is there a way to do it yourself?
