Default Need a new ecu what would you do?

My ecu is faulty so i need to put a new one in what should i do? Do i buy a chipped one or regular one? I have a 98 ex. I have an i/h/e and i play on running a zex system soon and later some better cams.

You had posted up a thread about Code P0133, which is related to the O2 sensor.

How do you know your ECU is duffed?

Are you using your 98 ECU? Chipping those is kind of costly, and really isn't done a hell of a lot, and you can get OBD2 ECUs pretty easily because of the number of people doing OBD2 to OBD1 swaps. I would just get a replacement for what you have now, unless you are planning on doing ECU tuning in the future..

I agree, don't waste your money, just get a replacement from a junkyard. DON'T buy a new one, they are way overpriced. Remember to get a 96-98 EX ECU and not the 99-00 because the plugs won't match. The 96-97 Del Sol Si P28 should work too.

Don't bother with a VAFC or piggy back fuel controller either, all you need is an adjustable fuel pressure regulator if anything at all..

Ok i'll go with the stock 96-98 ex ecu. What number is that Pxx?

Since you have a 98 Ex, decoding the Pxx # is as simple as looking at your current ECU.
