alright, here it goes! I have a 92 honda accord EX, its a manual.
problem started like this..

took the car to the bank to cash my check. when i came back out and tried to start the car, it went like this.. just kept turning over but wouldnt start.. i waited about 10 mins and tried again.. started but it just stoped abruptly.. waited a little more and started it up and this time got on the gas so it didnt die. finnaly got to my place of work..

after work i went back out to my car and to my suprise the battery was dead! i knew this because when i fliped over the ignition, i got nothing and the dash lights were really dim. i got a jump from a friend and i went home, no problems.

next day, i came out and tried to start the car. nothing happend, just a click when i put the key forward . i knew i had a problem with the battery so i just went to kmart and bought a new one. put it in and tried to start, and nothing happend. just went click when i flicked the key forward. ok really pissed off now, took of the starter and brought it to sturdevents auto, and they did a test. said the starter was shot..

today i went to the junkyard and pulled the right starter and had it tested, it works good. put the bad boy on and went to start the car and it just went click agian! ok so i jsut started toying around and put the car into neutral and took my foot off the clutch and tried to start the car. and wholly crap the car tried to start. but i had the same problem, just kept trying to start but wouldnt start. i havent tried to wait and try again because i know something is messed up! so when i have the clutch in and try to start it jsut wont.. take the cltuch off and it will try to start but cant yet.

what the heck is wrong! i just replaced the clutch; its a stage II. and just put on a new transmission. its not the battery or the starter, what could it be!

o heres something that u also might find interesting.. when i have the key to the ac position and push on the clutch, i hear a click.. it seems to be coming from the drivers side dash.. and it also did something weird today.. when i was finished and had the key out of iginition, the doors or somthing just like unlocked. and they kept like unlocking and i could hear like something spining in all of the doors. right now, there is nothng hooked up to the doors; the pannels are off because im painting them.

oh, one more thing. when i try to start the car and have the clutch out, and the car is just turning over, if i put in the clutch, the starting process just stops. i didnt mess something up when i did the trans/clutch swap, did i? i forgot to role my windows up one night and it rained.. dose this sound like an ECU problem?

it sounds like a neutral safety switch witch should be mounted on or around the arm on the clutch. you might also have installed backwards im not sure if you can do that in a hoda but i work in a dodge dealer and i know you can in a neon

 

do you do anything with the clutch pedal or just the tranny and clutch. If it was just the tranny and clutch than it has nothing to so with the work that you did because the ECU and a manual tranny are not conected. The only conections that you should have disconected to do the work that you did would be the speed sensor and the reverse lights I don't even know if a 92 would even ave the speed sensor on the tranny. If you messed with the actual clutch pedal there is two sensors one is for the cruise control deactivation (the top one) and the other is the start switch. It does not really sound like any thing you did more of an electrical problem
