Default need help with the Z6 vtec solenoid

i just put in a V-AFC and i hooked up the vtec wire to one of the connectors on the solenoid. i cant feel the difference tho. i set the vtec activation to many points between 3k and 6k and did multiple tries, but i dont hear or feel anything happening. i connected the wire to the connector on top of the solenoid w/ the wire that looks like it's white, but i cant be sure cuz the thing is old and dirty anyway, it's the wire that's about 3" long and goes to a plastic plug that mounts right on the side of the solenoid. there is also some kind of electrical connector on the side of the solenoid that has 2 metal teeth coiming out of an isolating material. i hope im describing all this well enough for people who know what im talking about to understand.

so now my main question is: what's the right terminal on the vtec solenoid to connect to the vtec switch? and also is there anything else im missing here?
