Default need help were does this connect to- vtec not engaging.

im looking into my engine bay, and to the right off of the gsr intake manifold theres a little pod with a vaccum hose on the top. it looked really lose so i pulled it and wa-la it wasnt connected to anything. where does this connect? and could this be the reason the vtec doesnt engage?

ne help would be great.... ill try to get a picture

IAB maybe? If so, that's not VTEC. Some people think it is, since it usually makes more noise when it opens the secondaries.

There should be a vacuum reservoir under the intake manifold, & a solenoid valve to close/open the secondaries.

If the hose is simply disconnected, the secondaries will be open. So your low end should suffer.

If the hose is disconnected but the secondaries are forced shut by wiring the little crank or whatever, then your top end should suffer.

Or maybe you're looking at something completely different. Pictures??

The vacuum tank is #10, the IAB control solenoid is #9.

But if you're really looking for an excuse to get a new manifold...
