need help swapping engine and transmission!!!
I have a 94 integra with manual trans and a 98 civic with auto trans. I need help on what I need to switch my integra into an auto and the civic into a manual. Could you list what parts I need? Will I be able to use some of the parts from my integra into the civic? Also if I was to swap a JDM engine to my civic would it pass smog? I live in Cali. I appreciate any help!
I don't really intend to be a jerk and hope this isn't contrued as if am trying to be. If you need to be told exactly what is needed, then it would be a very good idea to not try and do this swap by yourself. Converting a car from auto to manual and vice versa requires an undesirable amount of labor unless for some great reason. If you're willing to put forth the effort and do this swap, I would seriously consider working with an experienced mechanic or somebody who has done this in the past and has firsthand experience. So many things can go wrong during these swaps, it would be invaluable to have somebody there to assist in diagnostics and installation. It would also give you some piece of mind. For such a swap that goes both ways, I think there would be far too much to list in the way of parts, as well as special modifications that need to be made to both cars. However... I'm sure there is documentation somewhere on google.com or this forum that can satisfy at least one of your swapping scenerios, since anything is possible with b-series engines. That's my two cents.
Goodluck on your endeavor and I'm sure everything will work out fine if you cover all your bases.
