I install arp head studs into my b18c1 motor and the thread inside the block gave out. I call arp and they said the bolt thread is 11 X 1.50. I call all the parts store and all the machine shop and nobody had the helicoil or insert to repair the bolt thread. I was wondering where do you guys buy the insert from to repair the bolt thread in the block once it's strip. Any help is greatly appreciate. Thank you.

 

Weld in filler and drill and tap.

Think Spade meant to just weld up some aluminum in the head and retap it.

I would use a helicoil...but if you can't find one, then damn! Find a Snap-On truck that drives around and flag him down! They have em!
