Default Need Help with Solenoid

I'm only handicapped at Electronics
How would I test it when its off the car?

Its off of a GSR (I cant find out what year).
The Pressure Switch has 2 pins.
One pin is for the BLUE wire
The other pin is GROUND.
Which pin is for the BLUE wire?
Is it the nearest pin to the clip groove?

Please correct if Im wrong:
(+)Positive is the Solenoid pin.
(-)Negative is the pin other than the one for blue wire.

When testing it directly off a car battery, do I need to fuse it?

According the Helm's for a 95 GSR:

Blu/Blk (+) Top
Brn/Blk (-) Bottom

If you haven't already, please buy a Helm's maunual. Access to the internet may not be available to you when you need it most.

I posted this because I am missing the Male part of the harness.
Buy a book? I already have a helms. No book will tell you which color wire goes to the pin closest to the clip groove.

If you ever seen the pressure switch, its threaded in like all other sensors.
So indicating "Top" or "Bottom" wont make sense. Because the clip groove can be near the Top or off to the side.

All I need to know is: Which wire (color) is nearest to the clip on the Male harness? Oh, and..
When testing it directly off a car battery, do I need to fuse it?

if you're refering to the oil pressure switch, it doesn't matter, trust me, i've done it both ways within the last week on my car and it worked, one just goes to the pin on the ecu and the other to a ground. to make sure the solenoid itself works just run power to the single wire to the solenoid and it should click and the shaft should move up and down

I agree, it doesn't matter as long as one is grounded and one gets power. I've done it both ways as well.
