Default Need Help Running Lean

Here is what I got 93 prelude {h23} with a fmu , inline fuel pump , adjustable fpr. I can adjust the fpr all I want and cant seem to get out of the lean lights on the a/f ratio meter { plugs are also dry and white } The motor wont be turboed until this weekend so I need to richen up by then . Also I bought the fmu and pump off ebay with no directions , the pump installed before the rail and the fmu after the adjustable fpr on the other side of the rail . Thanks for the help

Did you remove the old pump out of the tank, and re-place it with pick-up tube. The old one "could" be causing a restriction.

Also do you have a fuel pressure gauge...?

Just some thoughts...

Make sure you get a guage if you dont already have one. Remove the old Intank Fuel pump this is the source of your restriction. In many articles I have read about inline fuel pumps is the problem with not removing the old intank pump. Read the instructions carefully. Get a guage set the fuel at about at least on your CRX to 44 psi at wide open throttle.

If you examine the flow/pressure output of the stock pump, you would see that it can flow a lot, or rather 'enough', just not at a lot of pressure. Throwing an inline pump after the stock unit only serves to alleviate the 'pressure' that the stock pump is seeing which will in effect feed the inline pump just fine. I would think the bigger restriction would the fuel pump sock/strainer.

However, if you have the time and resources, replacing the stocker with a pick-up tube would be more ideal.

But for you problem, as others have suggested, you need to get a fuel pressure gauge, set the pressure and then make sure it retains that pressure at high loads.

Thanks for the help guys! I got a fuel pressure gauge put in and i was way low , I also tried running the car without the stock pump and a pick up tube but it did not run quite as smooth as it does when it is in. My air /fuel ratio meter still reads lean but plugs tell me otherwise . I tapped into an incomming wire from the ecu for the meter , are you guys tapping at the oxygen sensor or what?
