need help quick!!!
im trying to install new brake pads in the rear. i have 96 gsr, but now that i have everything off and ready to be put back on the caliper and pads will not fit around the rotor!!!!!!!!
no chance in hell there is barely room between to the two pads let alone room to put it around the rotor. am i doing something wrong here?

The front pistons, as you know, can be squeezed back in with a C-clamp, etc. The rear pistons however must be rotated back in. They won't just go back in with pressure. A long nosed pliers works if you're carefull. Turn clockwise.
Damn, I hope I'm not too late. I need to clarify the long nose pliers thing. Do NOT try to grab the protruding edge of the piston and turn. The pliers are used to engage the two tab like things on the piston cup face. Don't damage the piston boot!
BTW, in the future, please at least try to summarize your question in the topic header. I hate clicking on a post to find out I have no knowledge or interrest in the subject. Thanks.

ok i fixed that thanks guys, but now i have ran into a new problem, the ebrake cable is no longer long enough to reach the pinhole it must go into. so what needs to be done so that it extends again
on a side note i think this write up is horrible for the first time brake installer as there were parts like taking off the brake wire that are totally unnecassary and has cause more problems then good but i guess u live n learn http://www.team-integra.net/se...D=406

Um ... bottom of write up on page 2 says "Note:If you are only attempting to replace the rear brake pads, it is not nessesary to remove the E-brake cable and brake line. Just remove the bolt mounting the brake line (located behind the caliper), and the two 12mm caliper bolts. Pull on the brake piston and you should have plenty of room to work."
