OK......I have a ls/vtec in my 92 integra that i built myself(except machine work). It is now in my car and runs well but i have a few tuning issues, starting with the knock sensor. As there is no spot in the b18 block for a knock sensor, i have not installed it yet. so my question is.... will the b16a1 computer fully retard the timing as a safe mode since it sees no input from knock sensor. Also, if so would that be contributing to my rich at idle/lean under heavy throttle?????????

Srry I wanna answer your question but dont remember if that ecu looks for knock I wanna say yes but im not certain rite now.
Cspeedracing has a nice discription of where how to mount the knocksensor by removing the top altenator bolt and tapping it there.

 

It does look for knock because im getting a knock sensor code. Im just not sure what it is doing to my timing

 

Just run a chipped P28 or run Hondata.

 

if anything, have knock sensor removed from ur program, assuming u are going to do some ecu tuning.
