red to power, black to ground, signal wire to blue wire on distributor, or matching wire on ecu or back of dash. u gotta cut some wires on the back of the tach to read correctly for a 4 cyl. i think. good luck

You shoulden't need to cut any wires to get the correct cyl. number. You just have to read the instructions that came with the tac to figure out how to change how pulse signal is read. As far as the wires go

RED=Igniton switched power
BLACK=Good chassis ground or direct battery ground.
WHITE= Headlight switched power
BLUE?= Tac signal off ecu/distributer (Usually blue wire)

actually use the blue wire on the driver side strut tower harness, it has a single blue wire that is placed in a black rubber housing. It's usually black taped to the other plug at the strut tower harness.

red = ign
black = ground
white = for running lights
breen = goes to yellow with green stripe on distributer or blue single wire on driver side it'll have a little black cover on it it will be all by itself
