bad dizzy cap or rotor phasing improperly, ionization of the air in the dizzy cap can cause crossfiring.
to tell you the truth I really cant tell from your description, I just gave you the cheapest easiest, first thing to consider, if its something else, let us know or more details and locations of noises, symptoms etc.. missing/bad engine gounds????
well i just gave my motor another ground wire..and i messed with the dizzy...still no problem solved...however it's giving codes 4,8,9 which are all dizzy so i'm guessing it's bad..i'm still looking i'm thinking it might by the fuel oxygen sensor that's my next purchase...i hate burning this much money

lol i was messing with the distributor and at one point the codes 4,8,9 went away..so i'm a little confused..and unless someone wants to donate a distro to me..i have to pay 100+ for 1..so i'm trying to go with cheaper things right now..i just replaced my pcv valve..which did help..my idle just smoothed out like nothing else i've done lately...so i gotta give ups for this little thing i went to an auto parts store and it cost me 3.80 with taxes so that was good...who would've though such a miniscule part would make such a difference!
Try swapping out the enternals of the good dizzy into the one that is giving you problems. That should work if not maybe it can be a bad ignitor ? Try swampping the stuff out though.

I think the plugs are different. I think one is a 5 wire rectangle plug and the other is a 7 wire circular plug well atleast it is that way for obd0 in references to the SI model and the none SI.

replaced the distro and no change..i took it to a guy that does smogs hot and spicy and he said my car was running rich...his computer only goes upto 10% but even with an injector dissconnected it was reading 10% so God only knows how high it is i'm only getting an ave. of about 25mpg how much is the average sohc civic using?
at this point i have a big headache so i'm trying to stop thinking about it but it's 1 of those thing that i just can't stop...my 02 sensor seemed fine it's plugged in correctly i'm not sure if it could be a fuel injector or more than 1...or what i'm ready to bang my head against the motor to see which 1 goes out first...of course we all know the answer to that..after doing some research on previous posts i'm dumbfound anyway i'm gonna make a new post and link this to the next 1..because this title doesn't seem to get much attention
