Default Need Help with idle and overheating.....

Finally got the car running but now idle problems... When i first start the car up it idles fine and normal but once its warmed up it jumps from 800rpm to 1200rpm and then jumps from 1200-1500 over and over again. If I'm sitting at a red light SOMETIMES the temp gauge will start going above "normal levels" not all the way to the top but definitely higher than it should but then if i start driving again the gauge goes back to the middle or just below that where it should be. The car drives ok.. not sure what it could be.. here is my setup

b16a2 obd2-1 converted with skunk2 harness
p28 ecu
CAI/4-1 header/Catback PE

anyone experienced this???

Sounds pretty easy. Your coolant level is too low or you have not bled the system of air.

There should be a bleeder valve on the coolant neck that runs to the head. Loosen this up while the car is idling (slowly) and allow the air to bleed out. You will know when the air is out when nothing but coolant is flowing out, no bubbles, etc.

The coolant bleeder valve does not have any labels and is 12mm. One question-do the cooling fans come on? If your cooling fans do not operate, the car will run warm/overheat at idle.

Junek9:

I'm having the exact problem you are w/ my b16a Sol. Although, I still don't understand where the bleeder valve is from the descriptions they gave. If you already found it, will you tell me where it is?

Thanks,
Matt
